Storing CO2 from power startions

BBC article

Does anyone know how this technology works? The point is to trap the CO2 in in a liquid form from the emissions from the power station.
Another idea for storing CO2 is to put store it underground in porous rock, research by MIT has suggested.
Either way are we not just shifting the problem as we have done many times before. Sure in isolated cased I'm sure we can take the co2 and safely store it somehow. But what do we do with all this stored co2? Probably pay some third world country to take it off your hands, which will inevitably lead to disaster
Does anyone know if the idea of pumping co2 through algae farms has been explored. The algae could in theory be converted back into bio fuel.

We have the northern cape.

So how about wind farms? There is a 300MW wind far in Scotland, surely we can make ones of greater size and address the power crisis is South Africa. Moreover the power is renewable and clean. Sure it is an eye sore, but have you ever driven past a coal power station?

Does anyone know how much one of these costs?

Smart meters

Should we adopt smart metering in South Africa? Will is benefit us and is it feasible

An article on smart meters by the BBC:
"Smart meters will play a central role in delivering an energy infrastructure fit for the 21st Century, says Stephen Cunningham. In this week's Green Room, he argues why he believes the technology will help deliver the necessary carbon saving needed to prevent dangerous climate change."
